Responsible Resource Partnerships

Bridging natural resources, finance, and people for the common good

Tailored investment readiness support for sustainable development projects

We work with project proponents, affected communities, and investors to strengthen systems that uphold human rights and enable meaningful community participation. Our support spans project structuring, stakeholder and rightsholder engagement, human rights and environmental due diligence, and the digital systems that make projects verifiable. Bridging those interests is the work: promising projects become financeable because they don't trade away the people they affect.

We put people first

Working alongside our partners, we attract values-aligned capital for commercially viable ventures and public-benefit initiatives that put people first. Projects include artisanal scale mining formalization, gas capture and commercialization, infrastructure development, food security, and access to education and health services. Working with our partners, we promote conditions for decent livelihoods, healthy populations, and economic resilience in an increasingly turbulent world.

Sarah Morris Lang

Founder, VP Business Development and Sustainability

Sarah spent fifteen years working in child welfare with a Master of Social Work, then pursued an MBA to understand how the flow of capital shapes the systems that determine children's welfare. At BMO Global Asset Management, she brought those two perspectives together, building a program to identify inequality-related risk across investment holdings. Her approach was grounded in international human rights norms, the sustainability laws now catching up to them, and the conviction that rightsholders themselves are the best source of insight into the risks a company carries. She founded RRP in 2025.

How we work

01

Understand and screen

We start with the project's purpose, context, affected rightsholders and their degree of involvement, its stage and its financing needs. Community engagement begins here, not later. That tells us whether it fits RRP's mandate and what support it requires.

02

Assess readiness, impacts and risk

Preliminary due diligence establishes readiness, surfaces material impacts and risks, and shows where further evidence, specialist assessment or corrective action is needed. At every stage we identify, prevent, mitigate and remediate adverse impacts on people, communities, workers and the environment, following internationally recognised human-rights norms and best-practice frameworks. That is what earns community trust and investor confidence.

03

Prepare and strengthen

Scope, business case, budget, governance, safeguards and implementation arrangements get clarified, in line with free, prior and informed consent and meaningful community participation. Participatory decision-making systems, preliminary risk assessment and financing preparation turn an early-stage idea into a credible, implementable, finance-ready project, so conversations with capital providers rest on clear plans and decision-ready evidence.

04

Ready the market

Buyers arrive with operational, commercial and responsible-sourcing expectations. We help proponents align production capability and supporting evidence with those requirements before formal discussions begin.

05

Align partners and capital

Complex projects need structures before they need money. We bring in organisations whose mandates, resources and expertise complement the project's, coordinate stakeholders, technical specialists, institutions and capital providers, and set up the conditions for them to contribute to preparation and implementation. Clear roles and a financing pathway suited to the project's stage follow from that.

06

Enable responsible and transparent delivery

Safeguards go in: environmental, social and human-rights protections, community-engagement mechanisms, responsible-sourcing requirements, and traceable, transparent reporting. Digital systems turn operational and supply-chain activity into reliable, accessible, verifiable information, strengthening data integrity, accountability and visibility for everyone with a stake in the project.

07

Monitor, report and improve

After financing closes, performance still has to be visible. We track agreed milestones, budgets, risks, safeguards and impact indicators through implementation and operations. Transparent reporting and early issue escalation support accountability, surface problems early, and keep all parties able to respond and decide together.
